Okada Rider Found Unconscious After Alleged Sweet Lacing Incident in Benue

An okada rider was discovered unconscious near the judges’ quarters opposite the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Benue State, according to a report circulating on social media. The post, shared by a local Facebook page, stated that the man had taken two passengers who convinced him to accept a sweet. After licking it, he immediately lost consciousness, and the passengers fled with his motorcycle.

The report indicated that the rider briefly regained consciousness long enough to narrate what had happened before slipping back into unconsciousness. Local residents and family members have been urged to help identify him so he can receive proper care and be reunited with his relatives.

The incident has drawn concern online, with some questioning the details while others expressed worry over the apparent use of a laced sweet to rob the commercial motorcyclist. Police have not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
