The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue SEMA) and with support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and World Bank partners, on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, commenced a three-day Flood Disaster Response Simulation Exercise in Benue State.
The exercise is taking place at the Fr. Alia Conference Hall, SEMA Headquarters in Makurdi.
Officials and stakeholders from relevant emergency response agencies gathered for the opening session, which marks the start of practical drills aimed at strengthening preparedness and coordination for flood emergencies in the state.
The simulation is designed to test response strategies, improve inter-agency collaboration, and enhance the capacity of local emergency teams to manage flood-related disasters more effectively.
