Sir Iorpuu highlighted key milestones achieved under Governor Alia’s leadership, including the restructuring of the agency for efficiency, improved data management for disaster planning, timely response to flood and conflict-induced displacements, strengthened partnerships with development partners, and the establishment of a proactive early warning system across the 23 Local Government Areas.
Barr. Akwash commended Governor Alia for prioritising the welfare of the people through well-structured emergency management systems, describing Benue SEMA as a benchmark agency in the North Central region. He noted that Nasarawa is replicating best practices observed in Benue, particularly in inter-agency collaboration and support for displaced communities.
The tour concluded with discussions on strengthening inter-state collaboration on disaster preparedness and humanitarian response in the North Central zone.
