The Executive Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government Council, Hon. Dennis Guda, has praised the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for his purposeful delivery of good governance and massive transformation across all sectors of the state. Hon. Guda made the remarks on Thursday, 20th August 2026, at Vandeikya Township Stadium during a keynote address at an event where he presented official vehicles and motorcycles to members of his council, traditional rulers, and other critical stakeholders.
He explained that the distribution demonstrated his administrative passion to complement the efforts of Governor Alia in strengthening grassroots governance, political mobilization, and effective service delivery. Hon. Guda charged the people of Vandeikya Local Government and Benue State at large to support Governor Alia until 2031, while appealing to the beneficiaries to effectively utilize the vehicles for the development of their communities.
The Chairman of the Occasion, Barr. Moses Atagher, Chief of Staff to the Governor, who was represented by the Executive Secretary of the Benue State Sports Marketing and Lottery Board, Dr. Joseph Nule, described the event as symbolic and a practical demonstration of effective grassroots administration. He hailed Governor Alia’s rapid grassroots transformation through his Local Government Workable Administrative Framework and called on the people of Benue to give their full support to the governor’s re-election bid in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
The Chairlady of the occasion, Dr. Grace Adagba, Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, represented by Mrs. Patricia Gbuuga, described Hon. Guda’s gesture as historic. She called for unity among the Kunav people and charged the beneficiaries to use the empowerment to complement the efforts of Governor Alia at the third tier of government.
The Royal Father of the Day, HRH Nyongo Achiaku Ter Kunav, represented by Mue Ter Kyan, HRH Augustine Aule, praised Hon. Dennis Guda for the historic gesture, charged parents to tighten discipline among their children, and declared total support for the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia. Other speakers, including Hon. Mrs. Dorothy Mato, Hon. Aseer Hyongo, the Governor’s Lead Pointman in Vandeikya, and Dr. James Iorpuu, Executive Secretary of B-SEMA, all resolved in their separate remarks to call on the people of Benue to support Governor Alia until 2031 and described the event as historic.
Highlights of the occasion included the presentation of 15 vehicles and 16 Bajaj motorcycles to the beneficiaries, the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Hon. Dennis Guda by Duku House and the 2024 Councillorship Aspirants Forum, as well as musical interludes.
