Governor Alia Urges Benue Residents to Embrace Hope and Unity Amid Security Challenges

In a press release marking the beginning of a new working week on Monday, July 13, 2026, Benue State Governor, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, extended warm greetings to the resilient and industrious people of the state while addressing recent security concerns and reaffirming his administration’s commitment to development.

Governor Alia commended the dedication of Benue citizens to the growth of the state and prayed for a week filled with productivity and prosperity. He acknowledged the opportunities presented by the new week but expressed deep regret over recent attacks in parts of the state by suspected terrorists. The Governor shared in the grief of affected families and communities, urging residents not to lose hope.

He assured the people that his administration is doing everything humanly and strategically possible to curtail the security challenges. The Governor highlighted ongoing close synergy with the Federal Government, affirming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains firmly determined to end the cycle of violence. He added that his administration is diligently implementing measures to ensure the President’s security interventions yield lasting results on Benue soil.

Emphasizing inclusivity, Governor Alia reiterated that he remains a leader for all, regardless of affiliation. “He is for all people and for the soul of Benue,” the statement noted. He called on the good people of Benue to maintain faith in his administration, pointing out that while much has been achieved in a short time, a vast developmental blueprint for the state is yet to be unveiled.

“The vision for a New Benue is a long-term journey,” the Governor stated. “As the foundation is being laid, there is an obvious need for continuity and consolidation to ensure these life-changing projects reach every corner of our state.”

In a unifying appeal, he declared: “Rebuilding Benue is collective. I invite all people of goodwill, everyone who believes in The Vision Benue, to join hands with me.” He further urged those who are disgruntled for one reason or another to set aside differences and unite with him to build a safer, more prosperous Benue that every resident can be proud of.

The Governor concluded with words of encouragement: “Stay vigilant, stay hopeful, and have a peaceful workweek.”
