Speaking during the distribution, Hon. Orwough said agriculture remains the main source of livelihood for many families in Guma, and supporting farmers is one of the priorities of his administration. He explained that the herbicides would help farmers prepare their farmlands more easily and reduce the cost of cultivation.
The Chairman assured the people that the distribution would continue in other communities across Guma Local Government so that more farmers would benefit from the programme. He encouraged beneficiaries to make good use of the herbicides to increase food production and improve their livelihoods.
Hon. Orwough also called on the people to continue supporting the administration of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, noting that the Governor has remained committed to the development, security, and welfare of the people of Benue State.
Former Chairman of Guma Local Government, Hon. John Enger, who accompanied the Chairman, praised Hon. Orwough for his dedication to the people and described him as a courageous and committed leader.
