Unity Remains Idoma’s Greatest Strength – Agatu Chairman Melvin Ejeh

The Chairman of Agatu Local Government Area and Deputy Chairman of ALGON in Benue State, Hon. (Amb.) Melvin James Ejeh, has emphasized the importance of unity among the Idoma people, describing it as the foundation for political relevance, economic prosperity, and sustainable development.

Ejeh made the call on Saturday, July 5, 2026, while addressing guests at the maiden Idoma Day Abuja 2026 celebration held at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Garki, Abuja.

He noted that the Idoma nation possesses immense human and economic potential but must remain united to maximize opportunities and advance common interests.

“When we come together, we can achieve great things. We can build a better future for ourselves and for generations yet unborn,” he said.

Describing the Idoma as hardworking and progressive, Ejeh urged them to speak with one voice and reject division. He also appealed to the Och’Idoma, HRM Chief (Dr.) Agabaidu Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John V, to continue providing leadership that fosters harmony.

The Chairman used the occasion to highlight improving security in Agatu LGA, assuring investors that the area is peaceful and open for business, with markets fully operational.

The celebration brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, professionals, and Idoma sons and daughters from across Nigeria to celebrate their cultural heritage.
