Parents Identify Two Benue Children Rescued from Alleged Ritual Abduction in Suleja, Niger State

A developing story shared on Facebook has taken a significant turn, with new details emerging about children reportedly rescued by police during an alleged ritual-related incident in Suleja, Niger State.

In an update posted by Zege’Orkwande Sughnen Yaaya, the author states that he spoke with the PPRO of the Niger State CID, who confirmed that the children were rescued by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Niger State CID, while a ritual process was underway. The post claims that parents from the Katsina-Ala area in Taraba State/Benue region have identified two of the children.

According to the update, the middle child was identified as Ushana Felix, a 6-year-old boy. His parents, Mr and Mrs Ushana, are said to be from Mbayongo in Shitile but reside in Katsina-Ala town. The youngest child, described as the smallest, was identified as Yandue Agee, a 5-year-old, by the family of Mr and Mrs Agee. The post notes that all the parents are from Katsina-Ala and neighbouring areas.

The author further mentioned that the identified parents provided supporting evidence, including old photographs of the children, dates of birth, and videos, which were forwarded to the PPRO via WhatsApp.

The original post had described the children as being stolen from the Katsina-Ala axis and taken to Suleja for ritual purposes, with a woman pictured alongside them allegedly arrested. The latest update indicates that authorities are still expected to provide an official response and outline the next course of action. The post was also copied to the Benue State Government and the Benue State Police Command in Makurdi.

As this remains a developing situation based on social media updates, official confirmation and detailed statements from the Nigeria Police Force in both Niger and Benue States are still awaited.
