INEC Validation Strengthens Alia’s Mandate to Consolidate Benue’s Development Gains — Jir

The Benue State Commissioner for Renewable Energy, Power and Transport, Hon. Jir Joseph Ter, has congratulated Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia following the validation of their All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing the development as a well-deserved affirmation of the confidence reposed in the administration by the people of Benue State.

In a statement on Sunday, the Commissioner said the INEC validation marks a defining moment for the APC in Benue and guarantees the continuation of the far-reaching reforms and developmental strides that have distinguished Governor Alia’s administration. Hon. Jir observed that since assuming office, Governor Alia has redefined governance in Benue through prudent financial management, transparency and a deliberate focus on projects that directly improve the lives of ordinary citizens.

According to him, the administration has embarked on an unprecedented infrastructure renewal programme, opening up rural communities with road construction and rehabilitation, revitalising public healthcare facilities, improving access to quality education, strengthening agriculture as the state’s economic mainstay and creating an enabling environment for investment and economic growth. The Commissioner further noted that the Governor has restored confidence in public institutions through prompt payment of salaries and pensions, aggressive execution of capital projects, reforms in the civil service and policies aimed at enhancing peace, security and sustainable development.

He also commended Governor Alia’s commitment to expanding access to electricity and modern transport infrastructure, saying the administration’s investments in the energy and transport sectors are laying the foundation for industrialisation, job creation and improved economic productivity across Benue State. “The validation of His Excellency’s nomination is more than a political victory; it is a clear endorsement of a leadership that has rekindled hope among our people. Governor Alia has demonstrated uncommon courage, integrity and vision in repositioning Benue from years of stagnation to a state driven by development, accountability and measurable progress. This validation assures the people that the ongoing transformation will not be interrupted,” he stated.

He therefore called on APC members across the state to see the validation as a fresh opportunity to strengthen party cohesion and rally behind the Governor in the collective task of building a prosperous Benue. The Commissioner urged the people of the state to remain steadfast in their support for the Alia administration, expressing confidence that the Governor’s second phase of reforms would deliver even greater dividends through expanded infrastructure, increased economic opportunities, enhanced security and improved social services. He reaffirmed his undivided support for Governor Alia and Deputy Governor Sam Ode, expressing optimism that the administration will continue to write a new chapter of progress, prosperity and sustainable development in Benue State.
