Governor Hyacinth Alia has reaffirmed that unity, collective responsibility, sustained prayers, and credible citizen support remain the strongest weapons to defeat insecurity and reposition Benue State for lasting peace and economic growth.

The governor made the declaration on Thursday, March 19, 2026, while hosting Muslim faithful to an Iftar (breaking of fast) at the New Banquet Hall of Government House, Makurdi. He described the occasion as spiritually significant and symbolically unifying, especially given the rare convergence of the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent.

Governor Alia noted that the alignment of these sacred periods presents a profound opportunity for deeper interfaith harmony, collective supplication, and shared commitment to the state’s progress.
