Governor Alia Decorated by Nigerian Legion Benue Chapter Ahead of 2026 Remembrance Day

On December 18, 2025, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, was honored with a decoration by the Leadership of the Nigerian Legion, Benue State Chapter. The ceremony took place during an Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting held to commemorate the upcoming 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Governor Alia, alongside his Deputy, Barr. Sam Ode, and other officials, received the recognition as a symbol of appreciation for their support toward veterans and the Legion’s activities. The event highlighted the state’s commitment to honoring Nigeria’s fallen heroes and promoting initiatives that foster peace, security, and dignity for all citizens.
