The Otukpo Library, a long-abandoned public facility in Otukpo, has been successfully renovated and reopened, sparking widespread commendation from residents for the efforts of Andy Obeya.
The library project was originally awarded around 1976 during the old Benue-Plateau administration but fell into a state of severe neglect and disrepair over the decades. Images of the facility before renovation showed a dilapidated building with damaged ceilings, broken furniture, and overgrown surroundings.
Following the intervention, the library now boasts a fresh look with a new green roof, renovated interiors, modern furniture, and reading spaces, transforming it into a functional facility once again.
Residents have praised Andy Obeya for his role in reviving the landmark project, describing the reopening as a significant boost to education and community development in Otukpo. Many have expressed hope that the revived library will serve as a vital resource for students, researchers, and the general public in the area.
