Haakyav Tombu Remanded in Prison Over Alleged Terrorism and Robbery Charges

Mr. Haakyav Tombu Peter, popularly known as OrDuBuDeLi, found himself at the center of a legal storm. The well-known figure was remanded in custody at the Makurdi Correctional Facility following serious allegations of terrorism and robbery.

According to reports, Peter earlier today petitioned the Commissioner of Police in Benue State, claiming he was attacked on Tuesday at Judges Quarters, Makurdi, during which his mobile phone was stolen. However, his visit to the state police headquarters took an unexpected turn when he was confronted with a counter-petition. The counter-claim accused him of leading an attack on the residence of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) in Makurdi, alongside unidentified persons.

Peter was subsequently arrested, arraigned before a magistrate court, and charged with terrorism and robbery. The court denied him bail, citing the capital nature of the alleged offenses, and ordered his remand at the Makurdi Correctional Facility. His legal counsel has since filed a bail application, with a hearing scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday, September 11, 2025.
