Governor Alia Flags Off Construction of World-Class Roundabout in Makurdi to Ease Traffic Congestion

Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia has commenced the construction of a world-standard roundabout at B Division in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, connecting Ishaya Bakut Road, Old Otukpo Road, and Jonah Jang Road.

The project is part of the Governor’s urban renewal programme aimed at improving infrastructure in urban areas across the state, according to a statement released by Benue State Network News. Upon completion, the roundabout is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion and lower the rate of accidents within the busy intersection.

The development marks the latest in a series of infrastructure interventions by the Alia administration focused on decongesting major roads and enhancing commuter safety in the state capital.
