Dave Padopad Awuna has been declared the authentic senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) released the official list of flag bearers, with Awuna’s name appearing in place of Aber’s.
According to a statement by the Benue Family group, the development confirms that the review process was based on the actual outcome of the primaries conducted, rather than any alleged automatic ticket arranged in Abuja by the Ubokotis camp.
The official INEC list has now settled the speculation, shifting focus back to the realities of the democratic process.
The announcement has been welcomed by many supporters within the APC as a triumph of transparency and due process in the party’s nomination exercise.
