The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale, on Tuesday joined a State Government delegation on a condolence visit to the family of the late former Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Benue State chapter, Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed.
The delegation, led by the Deputy Governor of Benue State, visited the deceased’s residence in Idekpa, Ohimini Local Government Area, to sympathise with his immediate family, relatives, and the wider MACBAN community over the painful loss.
Describing the late Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed as a respected community leader, bridge-builder, and strong advocate of peace, dialogue, and unity in Benue State, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale noted his significant role in fostering peaceful coexistence among diverse communities.
“Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed was a man of peace whose contributions to unity and harmonious coexistence in Benue will not be forgotten. His death is a painful loss, not only to his immediate family and the MACBAN community, but to the entire state. We pray that Almighty Allah grants him Al-Jannatul Firdaus and gives his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Omale said.
The Deputy Governor conveyed the condolences of the Benue State Government and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to justice, accountability, and the sustenance of peace across the state. He assured the bereaved family that the government would continue to take necessary steps to strengthen security and promote lasting peace for all citizens.
Also speaking during the visit, the National Secretary of MACBAN, Alhaji Bello Aliyu Gotomo, expressed appreciation to the Benue State Government and the APC leadership for their show of solidarity and support, while calling for sustained collaboration in the collective pursuit of peace and unity.
The condolence visit concluded with prayers for the forgiveness of the deceased’s shortcomings, the peaceful repose of his soul, and divine comfort for his family and the entire MACBAN community.
The passing of Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed has drawn tributes from across Benue State, highlighting his contributions to peace-building efforts in the region.
