The Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi has dismissed the appeal filed by the Benjamin Omale-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, thereby upholding the judgment of the Benue State High Court which recognized the Dr. Austin Agada-led Executive Committee as the authentic State Working Committee of the party.
The appellate court’s decision effectively ends the prolonged legal battle between the two factions, affirming Agada’s leadership of the Benue APC. The ruling sacks the challenge mounted by the Omale-led executive against Agada’s position.
The development comes after days of conflicting reports on social media regarding the outcome of the appeal. With this judgment, Dr. Austin Agada has regained full control of the party structure in the state.
This resolution is expected to bring some stability to the Benue APC ahead of future political activities, though reactions from the affected parties are still awaited.
