The Executive Chairman of Agatu Local Government Council, Hon. Amb. Melvin Ejeh, has rewarded Master Imoni Adoga Joshua with a cash prize of ₦1 million for his outstanding performance in a prestigious national essay competition.
Master Joshua, a student of Methodist High School, Obagaji-Agatu, emerged as the 2nd Runner-up in the keenly contested national event which attracted 388 students from across Nigeria. His exceptional creativity, critical thinking, and impressive writing skills earned him national recognition and a place among the top three finalists.
Hon. Ejeh described the student’s achievement as a proud milestone for Agatu Local Government and the Idoma nation at large. The ₦1 million reward was presented as a mark of encouragement and appreciation for academic excellence.
The generous gesture has been widely celebrated by residents, community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders, who hailed it as a historic demonstration of support for education and youth development in the area. Many have commended Hon. Ejeh for setting a commendable example that will inspire students across Agatu to pursue excellence in their academic and intellectual pursuits.
