The much-anticipated Kyegh Sha Shwa (KSS) Cultural Festival and its 10th Anniversary Celebration is set to begin with a vibrant Variety Night on Friday, December 26, 2025, in Makurdi, Benue State.
The opening event, scheduled to commence at 7:00 p.m. at the Benue State Secretariat Forest Area, will serve as an exciting prelude to the grand finale planned for December 27. Organizers have described the Variety Night as a key platform for entertainers to showcase their talents, emphasizing that only shortlisted performers from this event will be considered for appearances at the main KSS Grand Finale, based on the quality and content of their presentations.
They stressed that any entertainer aspiring to perform at the grand finale must first participate in the Variety Night, ensuring a competitive and merit-based selection process.
The evening promises a rich lineup of cultural and entertainment activities, including Kwagh-hir theatre, Mammy Water dance, Gesa u Zwa Tiv (a Tiv language reading and spelling competition), folk songs and folktales, Kikya Kile, and several other performances that celebrate Tiv heritage and creativity.
Interested performers have been advised to contact Simon on 08067725019 for registration and additional details, with organizers urging all participants to arrive punctually to make the most of the opportunity.
As the festival marks a decade of promoting Tiv culture, language, and traditions, excitement is building across the state, with the Variety Night expected to draw large crowds eager to witness emerging talents and timeless cultural expressions in a festive post-Christmas atmosphere.
