Oju II Stakeholders Consult Governor Alia, Deputy Gov Reaffirms Inclusive Governance

A delegation of stakeholders from Oju II State Constituency on Thursday paid a consultative visit to Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia in Makurdi.

The delegation, which included representatives of the traditional institution, elders, and community leaders, was received by Deputy Governor Barr. Dr. Sam Ode on behalf of the Governor.

Leading the delegation was Hon. Cyril Ikong, Majority Chief Whip of the Benue State House of Assembly and member representing Oju II State Constituency.

Speaking during the meeting, the Deputy Governor welcomed the delegation and appreciated their commitment to dialogue, peace, unity, and development. He reiterated the administration’s resolve to sustain an inclusive style of governance that encourages consultation and engagement with communities across the state.

Chairman of Oju Local Government Council, Hon. Jackson Ominiyi, who spoke on behalf of the delegation, thanked the state government for the audience and reaffirmed the support of Oju people for the policies and projects of the Alia administration, particularly the ongoing Awajir-Oju road reconstruction nearing completion.

The meeting was attended by HRH Chief John Okponya Oga, Chief of Uwokwu Chiefdom; Dr. Jairus Erube, former Commissioner for Health; Prof. J. I. Otaha, and other prominent community leaders and elders.

The visit is seen as part of continued efforts to strengthen collaboration between the state government and the people of Oju II.
