Alia Has Come to Restore Benue’s Lost Glory,” First Lady Ben-Sor Tells Media Advocates

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Benue State, and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Benue State Chapter, Her Excellency Scholastica Ben-Sor, has declared that Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia remains resolute in his mission to restore Benue’s lost glory and place the state on the path of sustainable growth.

She made the statement on Saturday when members of the Governor Alia Media Advocates, Sankera, paid a courtesy visit to her office in Makurdi. Ben-Sor called on stakeholders and supporters of the administration to sustain their commitment to the Governor’s vision, stressing that collective support and determination are essential to achieving the desired transformation across the state.

The delegation, comprising media actors from Katsina-Ala, Logo and Ukum Local Government Areas, was led to the Office of the First Lady by the Governor’s Personal Special Assistant on Media and Content Creation, Hon. Isaac Uzaan, who facilitated the engagement.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, Benue State, Mr. Peverga Nathan, congratulated Ben-Sor on her activities and expressed the group’s solidarity with her and the Alia administration. He commended her resilience, humility and commitment to initiatives targeted at improving the welfare of women, youths and vulnerable persons across the state. He also appreciated Uzaan for facilitating the meeting.

In his remarks, Mr. Orseer Mnughulga reaffirmed the group’s support for the First Lady and the Alia administration, describing her approach to public service as people-centred. He specifically praised her role in coordinating interventions under the Renewed Hope Initiative, including programmes focused on women, children, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Mnughulga also noted her involvement in the empowerment of women with business tools, support for vulnerable communities, the distribution of menstrual hygiene products to schoolgirls across the state, and programmes aimed at expanding opportunities for women and young people through economic empowerment, social intervention and digital inclusion initiatives.

Responding, Ben-Sor expressed appreciation to the Governor Alia Media Advocates, Sankera, for the courtesy visit and their expression of solidarity. She commended the group for its firm support for Governor Alia’s administration, particularly in defending, protecting and promoting the policies and programmes of the government.

She stated that the administration’s development agenda required collective support and responsible engagement from stakeholders across the state. Ben-Sor reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive and people-centred leadership, assuring the delegation that her office would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to attract meaningful and sustainable interventions to the Sankera axis and other communities across Benue State.
