A young Benue indigene serving under the National Youth Service Corps in Jigawa State, Iorember Charles Iorsue, has emerged winner of a ₦1 million Farmers for the Future Grant at the NYSC 2026 Batch ‘C’ Pre-Orientation Workshop.
Iorsue, an educator and agripreneur from Mbatierev in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, is building a reputation for combining education, agriculture and innovation to create opportunities and promote food security. He studied Mathematics and Computer Science Education at Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi, but has extended his passion beyond the classroom into agribusiness, where he produces premium Tom Brown and powdered pap, popularly known as Akamu.
The latest achievement comes on the heels of another recognition in the agricultural sector. Earlier in 2026, Iorsue emerged third-prize winner among about 3,000 participants in the BATNF Farmers for the Future Cohort VII programme, implemented in partnership with the New Nigeria Foundation.
The ₦1 million F4F grant is expected to further strengthen his agribusiness ambitions and support his vision of using agriculture and innovation to create sustainable opportunities for young people and communities. Iorsue said his long-term goal is to integrate education, agriculture and innovation in ways that empower people, strengthen communities and contribute to society.
The achievement was announced by Adoji Sughter Moses in a Facebook post. For the young Benue agripreneur, the journey from the classroom to agriculture is increasingly becoming a practical pathway to impact, enterprise and community development.
