The Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue-SEMA) has successfully coordinated the emergency medical transfer of a mother and her newly delivered quadruplets from Terkula Clinic in Ugbema to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi for specialized care.
The intervention was carried out in line with the directive of the Executive Secretary of Benue-SEMA, Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu, PhD. Acting on behalf of Dr. Amos Dzungwe, who oversees medical and health services for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable populations, Nurse Miriam Ngusha promptly facilitated the transfer to ensure the mother and her four babies receive comprehensive healthcare services in a well-equipped tertiary institution.
The move underscores Benue-SEMA commitment to safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable persons across the state, particularly women, children, internally displaced persons, and others requiring urgent humanitarian assistance. Officials expect the transfer to provide the family with quality medical care, close monitoring, and professional support during this critical period.
In a statement, Tema Ager, Information Officer of Benue-SEMA, reaffirmed the agency’s dedication to responding swiftly to health-related emergencies while collaborating with relevant stakeholders to protect lives and promote the wellbeing of affected populations throughout Benue State.
