Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim faithful in the state and beyond as they celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, also known as Eid-el-Kabir.
In a statement released on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the Governor described the festival as a blessed and glorious occasion through which Muslims demonstrate complete dedication and worship to God. He rejoiced with the entire Muslim Ummah and called for continued support for the government while soliciting more prayers for leaders at both state and national levels.
Governor Alia appreciated all Muslims in Benue State for their unwavering support for his administration. He emphasized that the peaceful coexistence among people of different faiths in the state remains a source of pride and a testament to shared values of tolerance, respect, and unity. He assured residents that his administration will continue to prioritize the interests and wellbeing of all citizens, promising accelerated and sustainable development across the state.
Meanwhile, in a separate message commemorating the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, Governor Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child in Benue State can thrive and fulfill their dreams.
The Governor highlighted key achievements in the education sector, noting that children in the state are already enjoying free education from Basic 1-6 and Junior Secondary School levels. He revealed that his administration has revitalized the basic education system through the reconstruction and erection of over 400 new infrastructure projects, including storey buildings, and the recruitment of no fewer than 9,700 personnel to ensure efficiency.
The dual messages reflect Governor Alia’s focus on religious harmony, unity, and human capital development as he continues to steer the affairs of Benue State.
