Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), has arrived at the Makurdi Airport for the Benue State 50th anniversary celebration.
The elder statesman was warmly received by the Deputy Governor of Benue State, Barr. Sam Odeh, alongside the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Moses Atagher, members of the Benue State Executive Council, and other senior government officials.
General Gowon will serve as the Chairman of the grand occasion taking place at IBB Square in Makurdi. His arrival adds immense national prominence to the series of events marking five decades of Benue State’s creation.
The red-carpet reception featured dignitaries and officials who gathered at the airport to welcome the revered former leader, underscoring the significance of the golden jubilee celebration.
