President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned the Benfruit Factory, also known as the Bensono Fruit Processing Company, in Makurdi, Benue State.
The commissioning of the major industrial project coincided with the ongoing celebration of Benue State at 50, adding a significant developmental milestone to the golden jubilee festivities.
The President’s action symbolises a major boost to agro-processing and economic growth in the state, known for its rich agricultural produce. The state-of-the-art facility is expected to enhance fruit processing, create employment opportunities, and support local farmers.
Dignitaries, government officials, and residents witnessed the event, which featured the official unveiling of a commemorative plaque and tours of the modern processing plant equipped with advanced machinery. This development underscores the federal government’s commitment to industrialisation and value addition in Nigeria’s food production sector.
