The former First Lady of Benue State, Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, and Dr. Emmanuel Shior have officially obtained their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2027 general elections under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom, who is the PDP candidate for the Benue North-West Senatorial District (Zone B), and Dr. Emmanuel Shior, the PDP candidate for Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency, picked the forms at the PDP Party Secretariat in Makurdi.
The event attracted party stakeholders and supporters who gathered to witness the occasion. The former Executive Secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), who accompanied Dr. Mrs. Ortom, expressed confidence in her candidacy, describing her as a tested and trusted leader whose humanitarian impact and consistent service across the state set her apart from other contenders.
Speaking shortly after obtaining his forms, Dr. Shior appreciated the leader of the PDP in Benue State and former Governor, Samuel Ortom, as well as the State Working Committee led by the State Chairman, Hon. Ezekiel A. Adaji, for their support and leadership. He specially thanked Dr. Mrs. Ortom for her moral support and unwavering encouragement, noting that her consistent backing has been instrumental to his political journey.
He further thanked party supporters and constituents for their encouragement, assuring them of his readiness to provide purposeful and inclusive representation. He called on them to support his aspiration in the 2027 elections, pledging to always protect and promote their collective interests.
Dr. Shior used the opportunity to highlight his development agenda, known as the Bridge Project, which he said is focused on connecting communities, driving grassroots development, and addressing key socio-economic challenges within the constituency.
The Makurdi/Guma PDP candidate prayed for God’s guidance and success for both his ambition and that of Dr. Mrs. Ortom, expressing optimism that their aspirations would yield positive outcomes for the people of Benue State.
Dr. Shior was accompanied by his former co-aspirant in the race, Hon. Bernard Aondoaver Unenge, to purchase the form.
This move signals intensified preparations by the PDP in Benue State as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum.
