A concerned student from the Benue State University Van… (likely a student group or page) has raised questions over the activities of the National Association of University Students (NAUSI) at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi (formerly known as Benue State University).
In a Facebook post by Tyolumun Victor Terseer, the writer expressed worry after five students complained to him about a particular receipt. The post questions when the students’ leadership of the university started this practice and specifically asks:
– When did the National Association of University Students begin issuing receipts to students?
– Who is the current president of the association?
The post tags several student leaders, including Comr. Akighirga Vitalis, Comr. Uvona Happy Zaki, and Atootor Benjamin.
Attached to the post is a photo of an Official Receipt from the National Association of University Students (NAUSI), Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi.
The receipt (No: 5339) shows:
– Received from: Ugbem Joshua Luter
– The sum of: ₦500 (handwritten)
– Being payment for: Reg I dues (Registration I dues)
– It carries the association’s official stamp and signatures.
This post appears to be raising concerns about possible unauthorized or questionable collection of money from students by the student association, a common issue in many Nigerian universities where students complain about multiple levies and dues.
The matter has sparked discussion among students regarding transparency and the legitimacy of such collections at the institution.
