Governor Alia Declares Total War on Insecurity, Vows to Crush Bandits and Restore Absolute Peace in Benue

The Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has declared total war on insecurity, vowing to hunt down bandits and all perpetrators disrupting peace across the state until absolute calm is achieved.

The governor made the strong declaration on Monday, March 9, 2026, while receiving a briefing on the successful deployment and reinforcement of additional security personnel to troubled communities in Kwande and other affected Local Government Areas.

Commending the tireless efforts of security agencies in restoring order, Governor Alia emphasized that those responsible for the recent violent attacks must be brought to justice. He described the ongoing reinforcement as only the beginning of a decisive clampdown, stressing that his administration will not rest until lasting peace is fully restored.

“Bandits and all those who seek to disrupt the peace of the state will be hunted down and brought to justice,” the governor stated. He assured residents that his government is working relentlessly to protect lives, farms, and communities at all costs, adding that no act of resistance from perpetrators will deter the resolve to end insecurity.

“Let this be a warning to all perpetrators of insecurity: Governor Alia will not be intimidated. I will not be deterred. I will crush insecurity in Benue State,” he declared firmly.

The governor reiterated his commitment to leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of peace, assuring the people of Benue that the state government remains dedicated to their safety and security.

The statement was issued by Chief Solomon Iorpev, Technical Adviser to the Governor on Media, Publicity, and Strategic Communications. The renewed security push comes amid recent attacks in parts of the state, with authorities signaling intensified operations to reclaim troubled areas and safeguard residents.
