NEMA, Benue SEMA Begin Day 3 of Flood Disaster Response Simulation in Makurdi

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), in collaboration with Benue State Emergency Management Agency (Benue SEMA), has commenced Day 3 of a full-scale practical training workshop on flood disaster response simulation.

The exercise is taking place at Riverside, New Garage, Wadata, in Makurdi, and brings together the Nigerian Navy, Marine Police, Nigeria Police, NSCDC, Fire Service, Nigeria Red Cross, other humanitarian and development partners, federal and state agencies, civil society organisations, and community stakeholders.

Participants are focusing on hands-on demonstrations of practical rescue operations and life-saving measures designed to improve response capacity during flood emergencies in Benue State. The training emphasises coordinated action among security agencies and emergency responders to strengthen preparedness ahead of potential flooding.

Benue SEMA has invited the public to follow the live session as the practical drills continue.
