The Executive Secretary of the Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA), Sir James Aondoakaa Iorpuu, PhD, has announced plans to flag off the monthly distribution of relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.
The intervention will also include the distribution of food commodities generously donated by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Nigeria.
The distribution is expected to benefit 6,403 households across six IDP camps: Abagena, Daudu II, Ortese, Ikywa, Ichwa, and the International Market Camp.
The exercise is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to support vulnerable populations affected by conflict and other disasters in Benue State.
Sir Iorpuu, who was recently commended during a study tour by Nasarawa SEMA officials, continues to lead efforts aimed at improving humanitarian response in the state.
