Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Sir Tersoo Kulas, has described the combination of former Governor Samuel Ortom and Mike Aondoakaa as a dangerous cocktail that would bring harm to the people of the state if they are entrusted with power in 2027.
Kulas made the remarks during a press conference held at Government House while reacting to recent media comments by the two politicians in which they accused Governor Hyacinth Alia of misgovernance. He recalled that Ortom had campaigned for the governorship in 2015 with a pledge to industrialise the state even as his personal company, Oracle Business Limited, was struggling with unpaid staff salaries for more than five months. He added that Aondoakaa’s Mikap Nigeria Limited, producers of Mika Rice, is currently in a state of coma and entangled in litigation with financial institutions.
According to the governor’s spokesman, anyone unable to successfully manage a personal company cannot be trusted with the resources of an entire state. He urged the people of Benue to be wary of politicians who possess “the mastery of treachery” and make lofty promises during election campaigns only to disappoint the electorate once they gain power.
Kulas also listed projects executed by the Alia administration across the 23 local government areas of the state, arguing that the performance record stands in sharp contrast to what he described as the failures of the Ortom regime and the poor management record of Chief Aondoakaa.
