Government House Press Crew Disassociates from NUJ Vote of No Confidence on CPS Tersoo Kula

The Government House Press Crew in Makurdi, Benue State, has publicly disassociated itself from the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Benue State Council’s vote of no confidence on the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Governor, Sir Tersoo Kula.

In a communique issued on May 27, 2026, the Press Crew described the NUJ’s action, led by its Chairman, Comrade Bemdoo Ugber, as a blackmail and extortionist campaign driven by personal interests and a “pull him down” syndrome.

The crew praised Sir Tersoo Kula for his professionalism, dignity, and effective media management since assuming office in May 2023, noting his contributions to promoting the policies and achievements of Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia’s administration.

The statement further accused a section of the media under the influence of the NUJ Chairman of working against the Alia administration ahead of the upcoming political season. The Press Crew unanimously passed a vote of confidence on Governor Alia for his people-centred leadership and on Sir Tersoo Kula for his relentless efforts in media management and good governance advocacy.
