Comrade Sendiyol Elijah Fall has strongly criticized the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Mr. Tersoo Kula, over his recent television appearance where he claimed that insecurity in the state has drastically reduced, with the number of people in IDP camps, particularly at Adeke, now below 1,000.
In a detailed statement, Fall described Kula’s claims as far from the reality on the ground. He pointed out that many communities across Agatu, Ado, Logo, Guma, and even parts of Makurdi, the state capital, continue to face attacks, with families still displaced and several villages remaining deserted.
The critic accused some government spokespersons of engaging in political image laundering rather than presenting the true situation of the people. He questioned which Benue Kula was referring to, noting that the Benue known to many residents is still bleeding daily due to persistent insecurity.
Fall argued that while the Governor came into office with massive goodwill and promises — including returning displaced persons to their ancestral homes within 100 days — many citizens remain trapped in camps nearly three years later. He warned that prioritizing loyalty over competence and using exaggerated narratives to downplay the suffering of citizens only damages public trust.
The statement concluded with a call for honesty, competent leadership, and genuine concern for the masses, emphasizing that Benue deserves leaders who prioritize the people’s interest.
