A displaced family from Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State is seeking urgent support after a series of hardships left them struggling to survive in Makurdi.
Mr. and Mrs. Terpase Emmanuel were forced to flee their home following attacks that destroyed the little they had. They are now living as internally displaced persons behind Pleasure Travels Park in Makurdi.
Despite their difficult circumstances, the couple was blessed with triplets — two girls and a boy. What should have been a time of joy has turned into a period of distress.
The father, a student at Taraba State University, developed glaucoma that has already left him blind in one eye. The second eye is gradually losing sight and requires urgent medical attention to prevent permanent blindness.
The three infants are also seriously ill. According to the parents, the babies have not urinated for four days and are only passing stool. They have had little or no food. The family took them to Vitality Clinic in High Level, Makurdi, where doctors requested urgent medical tests. Unable to afford the cost, they returned home without treatment.
An appeal has been made for assistance to help the family access the medical care the children and their father urgently need. The father’s phone number is given as 08126306592, with bank details listed as Terpase Emmanuel Tyonongu, United Bank for Africa (UBA), account number 2350480525.
