The murder case involving the late Comrade Ben Agir Une (also referred to as Benjamin Une) took another step forward today at the Magistrate Court CMC-3 in Makurdi, Benue State.
According to an update posted by Alam Frank Oryiman on the BENUE POLITICS Facebook page, proceedings scheduled for mention this morning (24th April 2026) did not come up during the initial session. When the court resumed by 2:00 PM, the Chief Magistrate presided over the matter.
The prosecution presented the facts of the case and informed the court that investigations are still ongoing. They requested an adjournment to allow for further hearing and also urged the court to remand the accused persons in custody.
Counsel for the defendants did not oppose the adjournment but made an oral application for bail. The Chief Magistrate, however, declined the oral bail request and directed that any bail application must be filed formally in accordance with due legal procedure.
After deliberations, the court adjourned the case to Wednesday, 3rd June 2026, for further hearing. The accused persons were ordered to be remanded at the Makurdi Correctional Service pending their next court appearance.
The session was attended by several stakeholders and concerned individuals, including Hon. Simon Ubya, Dr. Abur Chris Terwase, Frank Gyar Ihwande, Tersoo Wisdom Aondongu, Une Jeremiah Imoter, and others.
The case remains under active investigation as members of the public continue to demand accountability and justice for the late promising young man.
This development keeps the spotlight on the judicial process as the family and well-wishers of the late Comrade Ben Agir Une await full justice.
Our hearts remain with the family of the deceased during this difficult time. May justice prevail.
