The Benue Motorcycle Operators Association (BEMOA) has issued a series of statements condemning what it calls an illegal election and urging decisive action against a key figure. The controversy, unfolding this week, centers on a purported leadership change that BEMOA leadership claims violates both legal and democratic standards.

In a post at 7:51 PM WAT today, BEMOA called on Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia to suspend PSA Nevkaa from all government-related assignments, citing his consistent record of bad character, insubordination, and anti-government activities. The association alleges that Nevkaa’s actions have brought shame, instability, and dispute to both BEMOA and the state.

BEMOA firmly rejects the so-called “BEMOA 2025 Poll,” labeling it a propaganda stunt that does not reflect the will of the people or adhere to democratic or legal standards. The group asserts that Comrade Lorliam remains the legitimate president, having been elected and recognized prior to the alleged illegal proceedings. They urge motorcycle operators, stakeholders, and the public to remain calm, law-abiding, and supportive of Lorliam’s leadership.

In a related development, BEMOA reported that the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has arrested PSA Nevkaa for orchestrating an illegal gathering under the guise of BEMOA elections, an act deemed in bad faith and against constituted authority. A press release further condemned the declaration of Terfa Aha Emmanuel as president, calling the exercise illegal, null, and void due to a direct order from the Benue State Commissioner of Police suspending further elections following Comrade Lorliam’s recognized victory.

The association warns that any further attempts to undermine BEMOA’s unity and peace through fake elections or unlawful activities will face the full weight of the law. As the situation develops, the public awaits further clarification from both BEMOA leadership and state authorities.
