Benue Links Nigeria Ltd this morning provided special transport services for people travelling from Makurdi to Ayati to attend the Priestly Ordination ceremony, offering a highly subsidised fare of ₦200 as against the company’s normal transport fare of ₦1,200.
The arrangement was put in place specifically to assist the faithful and other attendees who were heading to Ayati for the ordination taking place this morning. Several vehicles, including white buses and vans clearly marked with the Benue Links branding, were deployed for the journey. Passengers were seen boarding the buses at departure points in Makurdi, with some vehicles already loaded and ready to move while others waited as more travellers arrived.
The reduced fare of ₦200 represents a significant discount from the regular ₦1,200 charged for the same route, making it easier for many people, including church members and well-wishers, to make the trip without the usual financial burden. The special transport service formed part of efforts to support those attending the important religious ceremony, ensuring that distance and cost would not prevent interested persons from being present.
Images from the scene showed groups of people around the buses, some in traditional attire and others in formal wear, preparing for the journey. Security personnel were also visible near the vehicles as the boarding process continued. The initiative by Benue Links Nigeria Ltd highlights the company’s role in facilitating movement for major community and religious events across the state.
