Benue Links Bus Crashes En Route to Governor Alia’s Sankera Thank-You Tour

A Benue Links vehicle conveying people to Katsina-Ala for Governor Hyacinth Alia’s thank-you tour has been involved in a serious accident around the Air Force Base area of Makurdi.

The vehicle was transporting passengers who were heading to join the first day of the governor’s five-day statewide thank-you tour when the incident occurred. According to reports, the driver and several passengers sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

The accident took place as supporters and residents travelled to Sankera in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, one of the locations scheduled for the opening day of the tour. The thank-you tour, which began on Monday, August 24, 2026, is designed to cover all 11 federal constituencies in Benue State and provide the governor an opportunity to personally appreciate APC members, stakeholders, traditional rulers, party elders and citizens for their support.
