The group known as Akutah Ambassadors has strongly rejected and condemned allegations made by Hon. Asortar James Asortar, Special Assistant on Social Media to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, claiming that Dr. Pius Akutah Gbongbon attempted to bribe him with ₦5 million.

In a statement released today, the group described Asortar’s claims as “utterly false,” “without merit,” and an attempt to tarnish the reputation of Dr. Akutah, whom they described as a man of integrity with an impeccable record of public service.

“These claims are utterly false and defy reason. Dr. Akutah’s integrity and commitment to public service are beyond reproach,” the statement read. “The notion that he would engage in bribery is not only laughable but an insult to his longstanding record of service.”

The group further accused Asortar of engaging in a “misguided attempt to attract attention” and labeled his allegations as a “desperate bid for relevance.” They insisted that Dr. Akutah “does not even personally know Mr. Asortar,” adding that such stories serve only to mislead and distract the public.

The Akutah Ambassadors reaffirmed their “unwavering support” for Dr. Akutah and called on the public to disregard what they termed “spurious claims” aimed at damaging his reputation.

The development follows Asortar’s earlier public post on social media in which he claimed to have received a threat letter from Hon. Akutah’s lawyer, accompanied by ₦5 million cash and a proposed agreement. Asortar had declared his refusal to accept the alleged inducement and reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Alia.
