The Federal Government has deployed armoured tanks and heavily armed personnel to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in response to a planned protest by the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The heavy security deployment, captured in circulating footage showing military vehicles with soldiers moving into position at the INEC facility, comes amid heightened tension over the ADC’s planned action. The move has sparked outrage in Benue and Plateau states, where residents accuse the Federal Government of abandoning Jos and Benue to ongoing killings and insecurity.
