AIG Zone 4 Decorates Newly Promoted Officers, Urges Them to Serve with Renewed Courage and Commitment

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 4, AIG Dankombo F. Morris, psc(+), on Friday, 25th July 2026, decorated two senior police officers following their promotion to the ranks of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) at the Nigeria Police Force Zone 4 Police Headquarters in Makurdi.

The newly decorated officers are DCP Anthony Adeyi, psc, who was promoted from the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police. Prior to his promotion, he served as the ACP in charge of the IGP X-Squad, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Benue State Command. Also decorated was ACP Olajide Samuel Olusola, psc, who was promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). Before his promotion, he served as the Second-in-Command (2i/c) of 13 Police Mobile Force (PMF), Makurdi.

The colourful ceremony was held at the office of the AIG and was attended by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Zone 4; the Commandant, Police Training School (PTS), Wannune; Assistant Commissioners of Police; other senior police officers; family members of the promotees; and well-wishers.

In his remarks, the AIG congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to demonstrate a higher level of discipline, professionalism, and commitment worthy of the confidence reposed in them by the Inspector-General of Police. He further urged them to remain exemplary leaders, inspire junior officers through their conduct, and continue to develop themselves professionally as they advance in their careers.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the promotees, DCP Anthony Adeyi, psc, expressed profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, for approving their promotion after they successfully passed the prescribed examinations and interviews. He assured the Inspector-General of their unwavering commitment to supporting the policing vision and policy thrust of the Nigeria Police Force. He also expressed gratitude to the AIG in charge of Zone 4 for his fatherly guidance, mentorship, and invaluable advice. Finally, he thanked their families, friends, and colleagues for their steadfast support and encouragement throughout their careers.
