The paramount ruler of the Tiv nation, His Royal Majesty, Prof. James Ayatse, the Tor Tiv V, has officially received a consignment of newly procured broadcast equipment for Tiv Television (Tiv-TV), describing the facilities as high-quality, durable, and built to support long-term broadcasting operations.
The handover took place on Monday, January 20, 2026, with the Tor Tiv receiving the equipment alongside his wife, Her Royal Majesty, Prof. Felicia Ayatse. Expressing deep satisfaction with the items, the monarch noted that the equipment met high professional standards and possessed the strength and reliability to serve the station efficiently for many years.
“These are highly qualitative and expensive pieces of equipment. They are strong enough to stand the test of time,” Prof. Ayatse said, emphasizing their suitability for sustained broadcast excellence.
The Tor Tiv commended the individuals involved in the procurement process for their diligence, transparency, and integrity, offering prayers for God’s continued blessings upon them. He also extended praise to the management and technical team of Tiv Television, led by Mrs. Dorcas Ukpe, for their unwavering commitment and professionalism in ensuring the successful execution of the project.
The monarch specifically acknowledged the pivotal support of Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, stating that the governor’s backing played a decisive role in facilitating the acquisition of the advanced broadcast facilities.
Assuring viewers and stakeholders of improved service delivery, Prof. Ayatse highlighted that the new equipment would significantly enhance programming content, broadcast quality, and overall operational standards at the station. He reiterated the strategic importance of Tiv Television in promoting Tiv culture, history, language, and values on a wider scale.
As one of Nigeria’s largest ethnic groups, the Tiv people deserve proper documentation and global visibility, the Tor Tiv stressed, calling on the public to support and patronize Tiv Television. He expressed confidence that, with the upgraded facilities, the station would attract audiences not only within Nigeria but across the African continent and beyond.
