Tension Grips Naka as Reports of Armed Fulani Herdsmen Spark Panic

wave of serious tension has swept through Naka, Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, following reports of suspected armed Fulani herdsmen sighted in the area. The unrest escalated on Sunday evening when residents were seen running through the rain in panic, triggered by the alarming sightings.

According to eyewitness Akem Teryila Peter, who was at his rice milling business center during the incident, men, women, and children were seen fleeing in fear along the streets and through business premises. It was alleged that some women, who went to relieve themselves in a nearby bush, spotted armed men believed to be herdsmen. The women reportedly fled quietly to avoid being noticed, an action that may have inadvertently sparked the widespread panic currently spreading across the community.

Residents are now urging security agencies to urgently investigate and verify the situation to ensure the safety of lives and property. The community remains on edge as authorities work to address the growing concerns.
