NAIS Strongly Condemns Attack on Otukpo-Nobi Community, Calls for Urgent Government Intervention

The National Association of Idoma Students (NAIS) National Secretariat has strongly condemned the recent attack on Otukpo-Nobi Community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.

In a press release signed by its President, Comr. Saduwana Sunday Ochoyoda, and Secretary, Comr. Ojobi Samson Inalegwu, the association expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which occurred on the morning of Sunday, July 12, 2026.

The statement noted that suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked the community around 5:07am, claiming the lives of several men, women, and children, while many others sustained injuries. The entire community is said to be living in fear and trauma following the assault.

NAIS extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the entire community. The association called on security agencies, the Benue State Government, and all relevant authorities to urgently intervene to restore peace and protect lives and property in Otukpo-Nobi and surrounding areas.
