Youths Block Och’Idoma Palace with Corpses in Protest Over Attacks in Otukpo Communities

Tensions are high in parts of Benue State as angry youths of Otukpo-Nobi and Ugboju communities blocked the Och’Idoma Palace with corpses in protest against fresh attacks by suspected herdsmen.

The attacks, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday in the Ugboju and Otukpo-Nobi communities in Otukpo Local Government Area, reportedly resulted in several deaths. Residents took the bodies of victims to the palace in a dramatic demonstration demanding immediate government and security intervention.

The incident comes barely a month after the killing of the Benue State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Ardo Risku Mohammed, and his associate, Yakubu Isah, in the same area.

As of the time of reporting, authorities had not issued an official statement, and the exact number of casualties remains unclear. The situation continues to unfold with residents calling for urgent action to restore peace and protect lives in the affected communities.
