A fresh wave of debate has erupted among students in Benue State as some question the rationale behind the ongoing strike at their university, pointing out that another state-owned institution is fully functioning.
In a widely shared social media post, Igochie James Adewa Rex asked what student leaders are doing about the strike situation, describing it as a potential “death call” to the university. He wondered whether students are aware that another state university is operational and that the Visitor to the school had presided over their maiden matriculation ceremony the previous day.
The post further queried the position of NANS Joint Campus Committee (JCC) on the strike, urging clarity from student representatives.
The development highlights growing frustration and division among students over the prolonged industrial action, with many calling for urgent dialogue to resolve the impasse and prevent further disruption to academic activities.
