Senate Calls for Police Command and Military Base in Benue’s Apa and Agatu Amid Rising Insecurity

The Nigerian Senate has stepped up with a strong resolution aimed at tackling the persistent violence in Benue State. In a recent move, they have called for the establishment of a Police Area Command and a military base in the Apa and Agatu Local Government Areas (LGAs). This decision comes in response to renewed attacks on several communities in the state.

The resolution followed a motion moved on Wednesday by Senator Abba Moro, who represents the Benue South Senatorial District and serves as the Senate Minority Leader. He highlighted the “urgent need for decisive action” to stop the killings, particularly in areas like Ankpali-Edikwu in Apa Local Government Area.
