Queen Zaynab Ngohemba-George, new wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, joined the new wife of Benue State Governor, Mrs. Ngohemba Alia, representatives of lawmakers, and other dignitaries in a touching visit to an Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Benue State on December 29, 2025.
The high-profile delegation brought festive joy, relief items, and words of hope to displaced families still grappling with the effects of prolonged insecurity in parts of the state. The visit provided an opportunity for the women and their entourage to interact closely with camp residents, listen to their concerns, and reaffirm solidarity during the Christmas season.
Shared images from the outing, posted by BENUE info-pedia, show Mrs. Akume and others seated among the IDPs in a warm and engaging atmosphere, underscoring a shared commitment to supporting the vulnerable. The presence of both the wife of the nation’s SGF and the state’s First Lady highlighted the importance placed on humanitarian outreach at both federal and state levels.
The gesture has been warmly received across social media, with many commending the women for remembering those in the camps at a time when holiday celebrations often focus elsewhere. Such visits continue to offer emotional and material support to thousands of displaced persons in Benue, reinforcing messages of hope and government attention to their plight as the year ends.
