Senator Dr. Titus Tartenger Zam, representing Benue North-West Senatorial District, marked the dawn of the new year on Thursday, January 1, 2026, by celebrating with the people of Tse-Kough in Ikyaghev, Gwer West Local Government Area, where he officially commissioned a long-awaited electricity project for the community.

The event, described by the Senator as a deliberate choice to begin the year at the grassroots, underscored his unwavering commitment to inclusive governance and tangible development. He emphasized that true leadership must be felt directly at the community level, particularly during symbolic moments like the transition into a new year.

The newly commissioned electricity facility in Tse-Kough is aimed at easing the longstanding hardship faced by residents due to lack of basic infrastructure. Community leaders, including Mue Ter Raav, Chief Peter Ormin, District Head of Ikyaghav Community Chief Adi Bata, and Dr. Vitalis Nyiuma, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Senator for prioritizing their needs at such a pivotal time. They hailed the initiative as timely and transformative, pledging sustained support for his leadership while committing to protect the facility from vandalism. The leaders also appealed for additional developmental projects to be sited in the area.
